About sara

Sara has worked for 18 years in informal science education. As a consultant, she helps clients achieve educational goals while ensuring that learning experiences are fun, meaningful and engaging for audiences. She has worked on projects with TVOKids, Relish Interactive, Apartment 11 Productions, Science North and Sail Newport.

Prior to consulting, Ms. Poirier worked as a staff scientist at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto. Her work included developing educational exhibits, live shows and public programs. Additionally, Sara regularly produced science content for television, including TVOKids’ Ask Sara and the Discovery Channels Daily Planet. In 2011, she was recognized as a Telus Innovator at the Canadian Association of Science Centres’ annual meeting.

Sara’s work has appeared in the Association of Science and Technology Centers' Dimensions, Yale’s Climate Connections, Canadian Water & Wastewater’s e-Bulletin and the Coalition of Museums for Climate Justice Blog. Ms. Poirier has a B.Sc. in Astrophysics and M.Sc. in Science Communication & Public Engagement with a focus on climate change communication.
